Why is it out of curiosity that as an Atheist you still go to church, call your pastor your pastor and believe in group worship? I thought Atheists were against all of that stuff.
let me re-do that haha: 1-Why is it, out of curiosity that as an Atheist you still go to church, call your pastor your pastor and believe in group worship? I thought Atheists were against all of that stuff. Wouldn't you be called an Agnostic? 2- do you believe in heaven and hell? if so, why and if not why. 3-what made it so that you didn't want to be called a Christian anymore?
1) Do you believe that, although Church and State should be separated, that theists should be able to represent their views in a political sense (i.e. Christian/Muslim senate members/MPs) with the same authority as atheists/agnostics? 2) In the same vein as the previous question; to what extent do you believe religious believers should be free to practice their beliefs? 3) What do you think of deist world-views/philosophies? (Taking theism out of the equation)
Student at a conservative Christian college studying Bible... as an atheist. Oddly enough, I began my journey away from theology while in college. I choose the title atheism rather than agnosticism, now, because of my lack of theistic belief. You may say I'm too open to the possibility of God to be an Atheist, and I would say maybe. However, the word means a lack of theistic belief, a lack of belief in God, not an openness that one could exist if it showed itself or was proven true.

Thanks Katie. Although question 2 is odd.. if I'm an atheist of course I wouldn't believe in heaven or hell. Haha!
ReplyDeleteBut I'm actually going to plan on doing a video blog to address questions separately, so look forward to them coming up soon. =)
If you hypothetically died and suddenly found yourself before the throne of God, what would you say?

How do you address the claims of reformed epistemology? ^_^
ReplyDeleteCrap! It was supposed to be three questions . .er
ReplyDelete2) Who do you think would win in a fight between Friedrich Nietzsche and G.K. Chesterton? Philosophically and physically.
3) Drink of choice?
